The
Vineyard Connection, is a
specialized logistics company dedicated to the Wine Industry’s ever changing
wine freighting needs, ensuring that South African wines reach their
destinations safely, both locally and
internationally.
The Vineyard Connection is more than just a distribution
company. We offer a personalised service to the wine industry guiding
them in which freight option would be best for them, or their customers,
needs. We also offer tourists to the winelands the ability to send home the
wines they have enjoyed on their travels here in the Cape, ensuring that
their visit to our beautiful country becomes a lasting memory.
Started in
1995 by
Lara Philp and Johan Rademan from their garage in Observatory with only a
Toyota Stallion bakkie to collect wine and do deliveries, it has since grown
to a staff of 16 people and 3 Two Ton delivery vehicles to enable the
collection and delivery of wine for over 400 wine estates in and
around the Stellenbosch and Cape Town area. Due to our long term
relationships with third party distributing companies, who deliver wine on
our behalf both nationally and globally, we are able to offer a
worldwide logistical solution
to the South African Wine Industry.
In 2000 The Vineyard Connection moved to its current home
on the Delvera Farm on the R44.
With a warehouse and boutique wine shop we have the ability to offer
personal and specialised services to our clients. As a result we currently
distribute wines for prestigious clients such as the CWG Auction (since
2001), the Johannesburg Wine Show and the Bergkelder’s rare vintaged wines
to name a few.
All parcels are tracked daily and clients are informed of
flight details, which enables us to keep our clients up to date with their
expected wine delivery status on a daily basis. For international
distribution of wine we pack wine in our specially designed polystyrene
packaging to ensure against any breakages. We have also designed special
polystyrene packaging for larger wine bottles from Magnum (1.5L) to Primat
(27 litres) sizes.
Our staff is available to assist with any queries
7 days a week,
allowing for wine farms, hotels and tourists to contact us with any
transport query.
The Vineyard Connection team prides itself with its
personal logistics service offered to the wine farms, wine shops, corporate
companies and to private individuals. With a commitment that each and every
parcel of wine reaches its destination.
This commitment to service excellence was rewarded in
2008, when we walked away with the award for
"Best
Wine Logistics Company" at the inaugural
Financial Mail Wine
Business Awards held in JHB.
In 2009 we were again acknowledged and awarded the
"Best Independant Wine Retailer",
a rare double for this prestigious ceremony.
